The Land of Sweets
As the snow continues to fall and festivities of the holiday season draw closer and closer, a favorite tradition continues with Colorado Ballet’s 55th annual production of The Nutcracker. The beloved story of Clara’s magical gift of a nutcracker opens up a new world of sugarplum fairies and other delights. The beautiful dreamland featuring fantastic characters, brilliant dancing, exquisite sets, dazzling costumes, timeless choreography and Tchaikovsky’s extraordinary arrangement is being performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra now thru December 27th.
Speaking of sweets, we recommend adding to your holiday festivities with an appointment at The Brown Palace. Delicate finger sandwiches, scones and miniature pastries delight your tastebuds accompanied by your choice of gourmet tea served in a silver teapot and Devonshire cream shipped directly from England . Denver’s oldest hotel opens its grand atrium for high tea during the afternoons from noon – 4 p.m. every day.
We love adding new traditions to our holiday advent and hope these may be new additions to yours. What are your favorite events to partake in around the city during this magical time of year?
